Heirloom Little Finger Carrot Planting Instructions 

• Little Finger Carrots prefer full sun.
• Plant the seeds in the spring, 2 to 3 weeks before the last frost.
• Sow the seeds a 1/2 inch deep and a 1/2 inch apart, in rows 12 to 24 inches apart. For improved chances of a successful crop, plant in deeply worked soil with a fine, weed-free seedbed.
• It is important to thin plants to reduce competition. Thin to 1 to 4 inches apart before the plants are 2 inches tall.
• Plant additional seeds every 3 weeks through midsummer to continue your harvest through the fall.
• Plant crops for fall harvest about 10 to 12 weeks before the first frost.

Heirloom Little Finger Carrot Harvesting Instructions

Carrots are ready for harvesting to begin when they turn bright orange. That should be about 60 days from planting.

To harvest small batches of carrots, use a hand trowel, being careful to stay far enough from the plant that you can avoid damaging the carrot. If conducting a larger harvest, use a pitchfork or shovel and dig along the side of the row.

Pull the tops of the carrots up and shake soil from the roots.
