Heirloom Waltham Butternut Squash Seeds (10g) by Patriot Seeds

Waltham Butternut Winter Squash (10g)

Butternut squash is a delicious winter favorite that can be pureed, roasted, sautéed, or made into soup.

Grow your own Non-GMO Butternut Squash using 100% heirloom seeds. These seeds can be stored for 5+ years in their heavy duty packages.

Because the seeds are open-pollinated, you can grow, harvest, and replant your Waltham Butternut Squash crop endlessly.

Squash: Winter - Waltham Butternut Squash planting instructions:

  • Conditions: Squash plants grow best in warm soil, full sun, and are very sensitive to frost. Start seeds 2 weeks after the last frost, after the soil reaches 70 F.
  • Spacing: Plant the seeds 1" deep and 4" apart in hills or mounds.
  • Care: Mulch the plants to help maintain moisture. Plants will grow for about 85 days.

Squash: Winter - Waltham Butternut Squash harvesting instructions:

When their stems turn a light yellow-green color, the plants are ready for harvest. Use garden shears to separate the fruit from the plant, as the rings will be thick and rough.

Did you know this about Waltham Butternut Squash?

The Butternut Squash was engineered by Charles A. Leggett in the 1940s by cross-breeding a Gooseneck Squash with a Hubbard Squash.
